An Invitation from Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves

Dear Reader:
I write to include my enthusiastic support of this new ministry that we have been praying into existence for the past several years.

The Center for Christian Transformation represents a cutting edge for responding in a meaningful manner to the needs of the world by providing space for the Church to be the Church at its fundamental best.

The initial Festival of Christian Spirituality: The Gift of Poverty and Abundance is already on my personal calendar. I look forward to entering deeply into the wonderment of the Spirit in a community reflecting on such a compelling and relevant theme. All of those who attend can expect to be changed and made new for the sake of God’s world.

My personal commitment to this ministry includes asking the Rev. Canon Jesús Reyes to serve on the discernment committee that has been planning this festival, and now to serve on its board of directors. Canon Jesús, the Rev. Rick Matters, the rector of All Saints’, as well as other representatives of the diocese and the parish, are delighted and eager to offer this ministry to the greater Church.

Please join me in this vigorous and inspiring festival, as we discern how Christ would have us embody his blessings of poverty and abundance, by responding to the needs of our broken human family.

In Christ,

The Rt. Rev. Mary Gray-Reeves,
The Diocese of El Camino Real
