The 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church • July 5–12, 2012 • Indianapolis, Indiana

General Convention, the highest governing body of The Episcopal Church, meets this summer in Indianapolis. Members of the General Convention deputation from the Diocese of El Camino Real will be meeting with the deaneries over the next several weeks to present the key decisions the wider church will be debating this summer, to answer your questions, and to hear your concerns.

All Saints’ is in the Monterey Deanery, which will gather at Epiphany in Marina on Saturday, June 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You are all invited to join in the conversation.

Among the topics under discussion are:

  • Re-structuring church-wide ministries to better help our local ministries meet the needs of a changing world.
  • Addressing social, national, and international concerns.
  • Responding to the Proposed Anglican Covenant.
  • Approving a church-wide rite for same-gender blessings.

PLEASE NOTE: The deaneries will be conducting other important business during these meetings as well, so the General Convention presentations may not start precisely at the times given. For more information about deaneries and General Convention, we encourage you to contact Jeff Diehl, deputation co-chair, at jdiehl@albionenvironmental.com or (831) 588-7775.
