The Little Match Girl is a new musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale for the holiday season. Full of well-loved Christmas carols and reset in the 1910-1911 New York City Irish ghetto, the musical is well-researched and historically accurate. The audience will travel through the infamous Five Points and learn what it was like to live and work in the tenement section of turn-of-the-century America.
Cast with many familiar veteran actors and introducing some new talent, the show will lift your spirits and bring you to tears. The play will be presented at our mission, Epiphany Lutheran & Episcopal Church, on November 30 and December 1, 7, and 8. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. A pay-as-you-go preview will be held Thursday, November 29. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
