Building on nine seasons of talent and tradition, All Saints’ will offer Bach to the Future in the summer of 2014. The two (x2), one-week sessions offer music and fun for children going into kindergarten through the eighth grade. Each session will include plenty of singing and music-making, drawing, and dancing. The children will also explore history and languages, and interact with singers and instrumentalists from the Carmel Bach Festival!

Program Sessions

Bach to the Future Choristers

Participants lift their voices in song as they sing the music of Bach, Handel, Mozart and Vivaldi. Choristers meet for two (x2) one-hour sessions of choral music each day. Their music will be offered at All Saints’ Episcopal Church on Sunday, July 27 and Sunday, August 3. Different music selections are learned each week.

Games Galore!

You gain a fascination and learn about music through an enjoyable and unique collection of games that teach. These are games that entice curiosity and reinforce musical concepts, including rhythm, pitch, dynamics, instruments and note reading. Participants are in age-appropriate groups and a totally noncompetitive environment.

Bach Talk

Bach to the Future - Bach TalkThis provides a time for informal conversations each day with Bach Festival Chorale musicians. Bow, Blow, and Beat offers time for the musicians of the Bach Festival Orchestra to introduce participants to a different musical instrument each day.

Perk up Your Ears

Through age-appropriate activities, youth and children are encouraged to become active listeners. Let your whole body become a listening ear. You are introduced to listening experiences and are better able to respond, interpret, and speak about the music.

Visits from Mr. Bach

During each week, participants receive daily visits from Mr. Bach, and learn about the life and times of this immortal and fascinating composer.

Building Bach Community

Experience innovative and fun-filled music activities that draw you into creative experiences for building intentional community, nurturing, and strengthening relationships. Explore ways to set goals and work together.

Moving with GraceRhythm Readiness

Learn to hear, see and feel rhythm. Experience activities that help you to understand the concepts of beat, rhythm, accents, duration, value, meter, and syncopation. Creative Games and activities will enhance learning.

Moving with Grace

Grace leads you in group activities to express yourself through imaginative movements to the music of Bach, Handel, Mozart, and Vivaldi. You are guided to move freely with melody and rhythm as you explore personal and general space, and discover inner feelings.

 

Bach’s Lunch

A Bach’s lunch is provided each day during the two weeks of Bach to the Future.

Registration fee for each week is $150, due on or before July 14.

Each participant receives a Bach to the Future T-shirt.
