This weekend: parish campout—Our beautiful Big Sur campground is reserved for parish use this weekend, before, during, and after the parish picnic. Camp free on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights—no reservation is needed! Join us on the banks of the sparkling Big Sur River for fellowship and fun.

Saturday: parish picnic—Our annual Big Sur picnic will be held this Saturday, May 10, at noon at our Santa Lucia campground. Beverages and barbecued chicken will be provided; you’re invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share. See you there!

Diocesan Spring Conference—Register now for the May 17 event at St. Paul’s, Salinas. “Shut Up! Listen and Learn!” is the theme…and no, we aren’t being rude! Today’s “Shut Up” means “Really? Get outta here! No kidding!” The conference will feature an interactive format with guest speaker Dwight Zscheile, an Episcopal priest, professor of congregational mission and leadership at Luther Seminary, and author of books such as People of the Way: Renewing Episcopal Identity. The Rev. Bonhoeffer’s Life Together—Join the congregation-wide reading of this engaging and non-scholarly book. Conversations on Chapter One will be held on June 1 and June 21. Copies are available in the church and the office for $10.

Lenten Giving Boxes—It’s not too late to turn in Lenten Boxes or to write a check for Episcopal Relief and Development.  Funds are divided between South Sudan and St. Patrick’s School, Haiti. Thank you for sharing the abundance we enjoy.

Santa Lucia Kids Camp: A day camp for children ages four to thirteen will be held June 23–25 and again July 14–16 at Santa Lucia Campground. Bach to the Future 2014—In its tenth anniversary year, Bach to the Future offers two one-week sessions (July 21to 25 or July 28 to August 1) featuring singing, music-making, drawing, dancing, and interactive presentations by singers and instrumentalists from the Carmel Bach Festival.
