Today: Bonhoeffer’s Life Together—Join the congregation-wide reading of this engaging and non-scholarly book. Conversations on Chapter One will be held on June 1 (in Grant Hall, after the 10:30 service) and June 21. Copies are available in the church and the office for $10.

Today: The memorial service for Tom Lundell will be held at 3:00 p.m.

Today: Evensong, a traditional Anglican service of music, prayer, and reflection, will be offered today at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Join us for Bible study from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in Grant Hall as we explore Jesus’ life in a chronological study of the Gospels.

Next Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost. Have you planned your outfit? Let’s fill the church with the colors of flame as we celebrate God’s gift of the Holy Spirit! Do you speak a language other than English? You’re invited to bring a copy of Acts 2:1-21 in that language, and to join with others in reading simultaneously in many tongues.

Commission on Ministry Discovery Day—My Call: Lay, Priest, or Deacon?is coming up on Saturday, June 14.  This is the first requirement in the ordination process but it is also a valuable experience for lay people who are considering more intentional discernment about how they are called to ministry. Good news! Rev. Gwen’s last Sunday is now July 13! The reception previously scheduled for next Sunday will now be held on that later date, and we have six additional weeks to enjoy her ministry with us.

Furniture available—As the chalet/sexton’s cottage is readied for new use, two items, an occasional shelf in marble and metal, and a California king bed in excellent condition, have become available. Santa Lucia Kids Camp: A day camp for children ages four to thirteen will be held June 23–25 and again July 14–16 at Santa Lucia Campground. Bach to the Future 2014—In its tenth anniversary year, Bach to the Future offers two one-week sessions (July 21to 25 or July 28 to August 1) featuring singing, music-making, drawing, dancing, and interactive presentations by singers and instrumentalists from the Carmel Bach Festival.
