Today: Lottery Hymn—At the 10:30 service each Sunday in July and August, you are invited to drop the name and number of your favorite hymn (from either the red or the green hymnal) into a basket. At the time of the announcements we will draw the winning hymn and sing that hymn at the close of the service.
Today: please welcome the Bach to the Future singers—In its tenth anniversary year, Bach to the Future offers two one-week sessions featuring singing, music-making, drawing, dancing, and interactive presentations by singers and instrumentalists from the Carmel Bach Festival
Today: parish picnic at Santa Lucia—Join your friends at noon at our campground in Big Sur. Beverages and a main dish will be provided; you’re invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share. See you there!
Evensong, a traditional Anglican service of music, prayer, and reflection, will be offered today at 5:30 p.m. Light suppers after Evensong will resume in September.
Tuesday: Christian yoga—Creating space in the body through breath, movement, and stillness creates space in your heart and life. Beth Lefebvre will offer classes on Tuesday evenings in Seccombe Hall, from 5:30 to 6:45 pm., through August 12. No previous yoga experience is required.
Wednesday: The Bible study group resumes on Wednesday, August 6.
Saturday: Healthy Saints hike to Frog Pond—Join us from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for this easy hike in Del Rey Oaks. We have several other hikes coming up in August. Friday, August 15: Garland Ranch Regional Park in Carmel Valley; 9:00 a.m. to noon; Maple Canyon/Fern Canyon Loop. Saturday, August 23: Mittledorf Preserve in Carmel Valley; 9:00 a.m. to noon; no dogs; limited number of hikers; Holy Communion and picnic lunch. Thursday, August 28: Garrapata Beach and Bluffs trail in Big Sur, nine miles south of Carmel; 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 or 2:00 p.m., with optional lunch at Rocky Point. The Bishop’s Ministry Appreciation Picnic—You are warmly invited to attend a picnic at Coyote Ranch in Morgan Hill on Saturday, August 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The diocesan-wide event includes a barbecue and old-fashioned games, plus bocce, ping-pong, pony rides, face painting, arts and crafts, a bounce house, a petting zoo, and more. The picnic is free for you and your family, but you must RSVP by August 12 to Mary Beth at 831-394-4465 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Memorial gift for Michael Reeves—All Saints’ parishioners interested in contributing to a memorial for Bishop Mary’s husband, Michael Reeves, are invited to donate to the Bishop’s special project, the renovation of Sargent House in Salinas, the new home of the Diocese of El Camino Real. Send a check to All Saints’ and note “Michael Reeves” in the subject line.
Occasional shelf available—As the chalet/sexton’s cottage is readied for new use, an occasional shelf in marble and metal has become available. It can be yours in exchange for a donation to All Saints’ in the amount of your choosing. To view the item, contact the office.
