Today: Sunday morning Bible study is offered each week in the rector’s study from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. We study the lessons appointed for the day.

Today: Lottery Hymn—At the 10:30 service each Sunday in July and August, you are invited to drop the name and number of your favorite hymn (from either the red or the green hymnal) into a basket.  At the time of the announcements we will draw the winning hymn and sing that hymn at the close of the service.

Tuesday: deadline to RSVP for the Bishop’s Ministry Appreciation Picnic—You are warmly invited to attend a picnic at Coyote Ranch in Morgan Hill on Saturday, August 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The diocesan-wide event includes a barbecue and old-fashioned games, plus bocce, ping-pong, pony rides, face painting, arts and crafts, a bounce house, a petting zoo, and more. The picnic is free for you and your family, but you must RSVP by August 12 to Mary Beth at 831-394-4465 or marybeth@edecr.org. For more information, pick up a flyer in the church or office.

Tuesday: All Saints’ book club meets in the library at 6:00 p.m..

Tuesday: Christian yoga—Creating space in the body through breath, movement, and stillness creates space in your heart and life. Beth Lefebvre is offering classes on Tuesday evenings in Seccombe Hall, from 5:30 to 6:45 pm. No previous yoga experience is required.

Wednesday: The Bible study group meets in Grant Hall at 10:30 a.m.

Friday: Healthy Saints hike in Garland Ranch Regional Park in Carmel Valley; 9:00 a.m. to noon; Maple Canyon/Fern Canyon Loop. Saturday, August 23: Mittledorf Preserve in Carmel Valley; 9:00 a.m. to noon; no dogs; limited number of hikers; Holy Communion and picnic lunch. Thursday, August 28: Garrapata Beach and Bluffs trail in Big Sur, nine miles south of  Carmel; 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 or 2:00 p.m., with optional lunch at Rocky Point. Next Sunday: Parish Discernment Meeting—We would like you to participate in the very important Discernment Conversation that will take place on August 17. We will ask what sort of congregation God calls us to be, and listen for the voice of God as we listen to each other. Our conversations will also help Father Rick revisit his call to ministry at All Saints’. Bring a favorite dish to the potluck lunch at noon, and plan to stay until 2:30. Childcare is provided. Pasta with the Pastors—On Thursday, August 28, Fr. Rick will join with other priests, rabbis, and ministers to help serve the 22nd annual Pasta with the Pastors dinner in support of I-HELP’s ministries to the homeless. The dinner will be held at San Carlos Cathedral Hall in Monterey from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Reserve your tickets at WeHelpIHELP@gmail.com, or get them at the door.

Memorial gift for Michael Reeves—All Saints’ parishioners interested in contributing to a memorial for Bishop Mary’s husband, Michael Reeves, are invited to donate to the Bishop’s special project, the renovation of Sargent House in Salinas, the new home of the Diocese of El Camino Real.  Send a check to All Saints’ and note “Michael Reeves” in the subject line. 

Children’s Chapel—In September, we will begin an optional worship experience for children that will take place at the same time as the Liturgy of the Word; the children will return to church for Holy Communion. Occasional shelf available—As the chalet/sexton’s cottage is readied for new use, an occasional shelf in marble and metal has become available. It can be yours in exchange for a donation to All Saints’ in the amount of your choosing. To view the item, contact the office.
