September 14: Second parish discernment meeting—At this meeting, identical in format to the one that took place on August 17, we will continue to ask what sort of congregation God calls us to be, and listen for the voice of God as we listen to each other. Those who attended on August 17 are encouraged to return and listen to the perspectives of a different group of members. Bring a favorite dish to the potluck lunch at noon, and plan to stay until 2:30. Childcare is provided. Please RSVP by calling the church office at 624-3883 or e-mailing information@allsaintscarmel.org.

Memorial gift for Michael Reeves—All Saints’ parishioners interested in contributing to a memorial for Bishop Mary’s husband, Michael Reeves, are invited to donate to the Bishop’s special project, the renovation of Sargent House in Salinas, the new home of the Diocese of El Camino Real.  Send a check to All Saints’ and note “Michael Reeves” in the subject line.

A safety tip—Parishioners were recently contacted by a scammer purporting to be an IRS investigator. We are reminded to be alert and aware of letters, phone calls,  and e-mails which may be fraudulent in nature. The AARP provides ongoing scam and fraud information at http://www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/.

Children’s Chapel—In September, we will begin an optional worship experience for children that will take place at the same time as the Liturgy of the Word; the children will return to church for Holy Communion.
