Sunday morning Bible study will resume on November 30.

Today: Children’s Worship at 10:30 a.m.—Pre-kindergarten and elementary children worship in an age-appropriate manner in Room A during the Liturgy of the Word, and then return during the Peace so that they can participate in Holy Communion. Parents may accompany their children. The nursery will still be in session, and parents may always keep their children with them in church. Children’s bulletins are available at the entrance of the church. If you would like to help with Children’s Worship, please contact Jennifer Suttie at jennifer.suttie@mac.com or 831-521-9654.

Monday: Prayerful yoga—Creating space in the body through breath, movement, and stillness creates space in your heart and life. Join instructor Beth Lefebvre in Seccombe Hall from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. No previous yoga experience is required.

Tuesday: Interfaith Outreach of Carmel Thanksgiving service—The IOC will hold its annual Thanksgiving service at Carmel Mission at 7:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to join in giving thanks with other local faith communities.

Wednesday: The Bible study group meets in Grant Hall at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday: Thanksgiving Eucharist and second annual potluck Thanksgiving buffet dinner—After the 10:30 a.m. service, we’ll gather in Seccombe Hall at 11:30 for social time and enjoy our festive meal at noon. Thanksgiving dinner sign-up sheets are located on the back table. Please leave your name, number of persons, contact information, dish or beverage you’ll bring, or service you are willing to provide (set up or clean up). Welcome to all!

Saturday: Healthy Saints hike in Garland Ranch—We’ll follow Garzas Canyon to Redwood Canyon for a 3.6-mile hike. The easy to moderate trail includes rock-lined pools and creek crossings on the way to a remote side canyon with clusters of towering redwoods. Please contact Mother Cynthia at 520-260-5158 or cms614@me.com if you would like to join the group for this final hike of 2014.

Advent crèche display—During the weeks of Advent and Christmas we hope to decorate the nave with nativity sets of all types. Do you have a nativity set, large or small, that you could share for the season, or just on Sunday? Please unpack it, dust it off, and bring it to church. Be sure to affix your name in an inconspicuous place.

Christmas Food Boxes—Hear ye, hear ye! On Thursday morning, December 4, all interested parties will gather in Seccombe Hall and separate mounds of food: rice here, spaghetti there, flour over there, oil in between. Then we will set up the cartons, and later that same day Boy Scout Troop 148 will pack the food boxes for Big Sur, the Thomas Karmen food ministry, Nancy Costello’s project, and All Saints’ local outreach. Anyone who has an hour or so to spare would be welcome; no experience necessary, just a little time and a lot of love. Contact Hans Lehmann at 624- 0540.

The eighth annual St. Nicholas Celebration will take place in Seccombe Hall on Saturday, December 6, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Join us for a time of crafts, storytelling, singing, treats, and fellowship for all ages.

Advent Dinner: Join your All Saints’ friends on Wednesday, December 10, at 5:30 as we gather in the Advent season for a delicious ham dinner preceded by champagne punch and light hors d’oeuvres; poetry read by Bob Nielsen; songs by the youth and adult choirs; a gift at each place setting; and a special reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Father Rick. Sign up in the back of the church, or call the church office at 624-3883. The price is $10 per person; children under twelve are free!

Are you wearing your name tag at church each week? Do you need a name tag? Please contact Ray Krise at the office if you need to have one made for you (ray.krise@allsaintscarmel.org or 831-624-3883, ext. 14).

Christmas Gifts for Children—Once again the Outreach Commission is gathering Christmas gifts for the children at Epiphany Church in Marina.  Fr. Jon suggests toys, books, or art supplies for children up to age twelve, or gift cards (not to exceed $25), or checks made out to Epiphany, memo “Christmas gifts.”  UNWRAPPED items may be placed in the box by the church doors or taken to the church office.  Our deadline is Monday, December 15. You may place checks in the collection plates. The joy of children is wonderful to share.  At Epiphany, no child is left without a gift. Thanks in advance from the Outreach Commission.

Christmas memorials—We welcome your donations to help adorn the church for Christmas. You may use the forms located at the back of the church and in the office, or send instructions along with your check, which must be received by Monday, December 22. The suggested donation is $20. Memorials and thanksgivings will be included in the Christmas bulletins.

Sunday handout deadline—To be included in next Sunday’s handout, your announcement must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on the preceding Wednesday. Most special parish events are included in the announcements for three weeks before they occur. Contact Andrea Matters at andreamatters@gmail.com or 624-3090.
