Today: Sunday morning Bible study—We meet each week in the rector’s study from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. to study the lessons appointed for the day.

Today: Children’s Worship at 10:30 a.m.—Pre-kindergarten and elementary children worship in an age-appropriate manner in Room A during the Liturgy of the Word, and then return during the Peace so that they can participate in Holy Communion. Parents may accompany their children. The nursery will still be in session, and parents may always keep their children with them in church. Monday: The Gospel of Mark five-week evening series—Discover the treasures of what appears to be a simple, straightforward, and perhaps inadequate account of the public ministry of Jesus. Don’t miss your last chance to take advantage of Fr. Rick’s special training in the New Testament. Join us for five Mondays, from February 9 through March 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the library.

Wednesday: The Gospel According to Mark—You are welcome to attend an ongoing study of the Gospel of Mark led by Fr. Rick. Join us in Grant Hall each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Pancakes (Thumb)

 

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper—Join the fun on February 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Seth Eury and Fr. Rick will be flipping pancakes, made from Rick’s secret recipes. Entertainment will include an open microphone for people to share what “you probably don’t know about me.”

 

Ash Wednesday—Mark  February 18 on your calendar for either noon or 6:00 p.m. Begin your Lent with the imposition of ashes at this simple and solemn liturgy.

A memorial service for parishioner Bob Johnson will be held at Carmel Valley Manor on Saturday, February 21, at 3:00 p.m.

Vestry forum on Sunday, March 8—Join vestry members in the church at 11:45 a.m. to discuss the rector transition process. Be sure to bring your questions!

What’s new with I-Help—Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program:  Catch up on the good news with current flyers on the table by the front doors.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution to do more for All Saints’ in 2015? Office volunteers are currently needed for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. This ministry of hospitality involves answering the phone, welcoming and directing those who come to the office, and occasional light clerical tasks (making a phone call, using the copier, etc.) Please contact Ray Krise (ray.krise@allsaintscarmel.org or 831-624-3883, ext. 14) if you would like to join the 2015 team of friendly faces who staff our front desk.
