Sunday, September 6: A very special All Saints’ welcome to today’s Officiant and Celebrant, the Reverend Deborah Kempson-Thompson. Also, please welcome the Reverend Natalie Stewart. She will be with us for a few months, giving us support during this time of transition.
Sunday, September 6: Fall means back to school! Let’s talk after the 10:30 a.m. service. Meet in the church after coffee hour. We’d like to begin an adult class and one for youth soon. We need your input.
Sunday, September 6: There will be no Choral Evensong service due to the long holiday weekend. The regular 5:30 p.m. contemplative communion service will be held. Please mark your calendars for the coming Evensong services: October 4, November 1 (All Saints’ Day) and December 6 (Advent Lessons and Carols).
Monday, September 7: Prayerful yoga – will not be held this Monday, due to the Labor Day holiday. Classes will resume next Monday.
Ushers needed for the 10:30 service – There is a pressing need for ushers to serve at our 10:30 a.m. service. This is a fun and rewarding way to serve the church, and easy, too! Anyone can do it. Men and women welcome. Contact Don Britton at 831-455-5411 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Needed: lay Eucharistic ministers – We have a number of parishioners who cannot attend Sunday services yet still want to receive Holy Communion once in a while. We need licensed people who can make home visits and administer the sacraments. We can arrange the appropriate training. Have a favorite hymn? We want to know what your favorite hymns are. Write down the hymn numbers of three choices and give them to the usher as you leave. We will make a list of the top ten and start incorporating them into the service each Sunday. We will also be trying different hymns at the time of the offertory.
From the Outreach Commission: Tickets are available for the Friends of Epiphany Dinner to be held in Seccombe Hall on Saturday, September 12th at 5:00 p.m. Hispanic folk dancing, paella dinner with wine, silent auction and live music. A portion of the ticket sales goes to All Saints’ outreach and the event sponsors the programs of Epiphany in Marina. $50.00 per ticket. All Saints’ has been blessed by benefactors’ gifts. Save the Dates!
The Parish Picnic will be on Saturday, 19 September. Come and spend the day. We will join together for Morning Prayer at 11:00 and eat lunch about noon. Bring an inner-tube and laze your way along the river. Enjoy the smell of the woods and relax with your All Saints’ friends. Picnic will be in the main area by the river.
