—The Icons in Transformation exhibit will be open to the public – for free – September 26-November 20. Please invite your friends and tell everyone you know! We have docents M-F 10-2:00, Thurs. Eve, 6-8:00, and Sat.-Sun. 1-4:00.
—Special Events – Friday, Oct. 7, @ 7:30, the Monterey Symphony Chamber Orchestra Chamber Players will perform in our beautiful sanctuary. Tickets are $25 & can be purchased through our website.
Saturday, Oct. 8 at 4 pm, guest speaker Dr. Rossitza Schroeder will present a free lecture on “Byzantium & Rome, East & West in Iconography. We hope you will attend.
Monday, September 26th – Prayerful Yoga – Creating space in the body through breath, movement, and stillness creates space in your heart and life. Join instructor Beth Lefevre in Seccombe Hall from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. No previous yoga experience is required. Donations go to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund.
Wednesday, September 28th – 10:30 a.m. in the Library – Bible Study led by Bill Reed. The group will meet every other Wednesday, continuing the study of the Epistle to the Colossians. In October there will be only one meeting on Wednesday, October 26th.
Thursday, September 29th at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel: Our Contemplative Prayer Group continues its weekly meetings to practice Centering Prayer. We will begin with a short reading from Fr. Thomas Keating’s book, Open Mind, Open Heart, followed by Centering Prayer meditation, and a short discussion about our practice. Please join us even if you have not attended a workshop.
Sunday, October 2: We celebrate The Blessing of the Animals and The Feast of St. Francis. Bring your pets, invite friends to bring theirs. You may also bring photos of pets, stuffed animals, or a photo of a species that is threatened with extinction. Please keep dogs on leashes and cats in carriers so that everyone can be safe and have fun! The service will take place in the Church.
Sunday, October 9: Join us after 10:30am Sunday service for a Pie Fest! If you don’t know what a Pie Fest is come and see how you can participate and you are guaranteed a piece of the pie.
Tuesday, October 11th – Join the All Saints’ Book Club on Tuesday, October 11th in the Library at 6:00 p.m. We will be discussing The Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline. Our Memorial Garden Project is well on its way. We are awaiting the final shipment of stone to complete the project. Consider buying a brick to commemorate a loved one in your family or reserve one for yourself. This project is being paid for completely with donations. This will be a beautiful meditative spot when completed. Jana Gill is the contact if you have questions.
Daily Morning Prayer – Welcome Happy Morning! You are invited to join All Saints’ parishioners every weekday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for prayers, music, and reflection at Morning Prayer in the All Saints’ Chapel of Saints Benedict and Scholastica (opening onto 9th Street).
There is a need for sleeping bags and windbreaker jackets for those in need. Jackets need to be clean and light enough to roll up tightly. Marked containers will be under the tables by the front doors. Thanks from your Outreach Commission. Thanks from those in need.
Donations for the Food Pantry – The food pantry can use canned meats, tuna, peanut butter, canned fruit or vegetables, and toiletries. Please place donated items in the basket at the entrance to the church. Thank you for your generosity towards those in need.
