Evening Worship time changes – Beginning in February, a worship service will no longer be celebrated on Sunday evenings.  Instead there will be a worship service on Saturday evenings at 5:00 p.m.  Likewise, Evensong will take place on the first Saturday of the month at 5:00 p.m.  Thus, the next Evensong will take place Saturday, March 4th at 5:00 p.m.

Today, Sunday, February 5th – 12-2 p.m.  St John’s  Art Auction Event in Seccombe Hall. The exhibition will showcase various local and international artists’ wonderful work. All are welcome to come out to enjoy some art and share in hoping with Let’s Make a Book for a better tomorrow for these children.  The “Share the Love” art exhibition will be dedicated to Syrian Refugee Children in Lebanon and will assist in funding the education programs of “Let’s Make a Book”, focused towards Syrian refugee children in the Middle East.

Daily Morning PrayerWelcome Happy Morning!  You are invited to join All Saints’ parishioners every weekday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for prayers, music, and reflection at Morning Prayer in the All Saints’ Chapel of Saints Benedict and Scholastica (door on 8th and Lincoln).

Monday, February 6thPrayerful Yoga -Creating space in the body through breath, movement, and stillness creates space in your heart and life.  Join instructor Beth Lefebvre in Seccombe Hall from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  No previous yoga experience is required.  Donations go to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund.

Tuesday, February 7th – All Saints’ Book Club meeting at 6 p.m. in the Library.  Bring something to add to a salad or other nibbles, cheese or dessert.  Tea is provided.  The discussion will be about selecting books to read in the coming year.  Let Kathy Nielsen or Grace Swearingen know if you have any questions.

Thursday, February 9th at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel:  The Contemplative Prayer Group.  We will begin with a short reading from Fr. Thomas Keating’s book, Open Mind, Open Heart, followed by Centering Prayer meditation, and a short discussion about our practice.  Please join us even if you have not attended a workshop.

Sunday, February 12th – noon to 3:00 p.m. –  lunch and workshop at All Saints’, “Going Deeper – The Why and How of Relational, One-on-One Conversations.”  Learn – or re-learn – the skills of engaging in truly meaningful conversations with the goal of finding common interests.  Guest presenter will be Tim McManus from Communities Organized for Relational Power in Action (COPA).

Friday, February 24th 4:30-7 p.m. Schools3 Art Party at All Saints’ in Seccombe Hall. Painting, sculpture, pottery, silent auction and more.   Schools3 is a non-profit organization, which builds schools in Africa, Honduras and India, funded through private donations.  More information at www.schools3.org.

Saturday, March 18th at 5:00 p.m. – The Salisbury Cathedral Children’s Choir – Did you know that “the choristers of Salisbury Cathedral maintain an unbroken tradition of church music at Salisbury that stretches back for over 700 years in the present cathedral, and for a further 200 years before that in the cathedral at Old Sarum? The choral tradition is part of their national heritage.” Join us as they sing Evensong here at All Saints’. Bring your friends and family. Talk it up, please!!

The All Saints’ choir is seeking singers.  Our faithful little choir could use a few more songbirds from bass to soprano.  If you like to sing, please consider joining us.  You are welcome to give us a try and see if it suits you.  We meet from 7 to 9 on Thursday evenings and 9 on Sunday morning.  Come make a joyful noise unto the Lord with us.  Contact Jean Widaman.

The 2017 Altar Flower Calendar has been posted in the back of the church.  Almost all dates in 2017 are now available for you to contribute flowers to honor or memorialize a special event or loved one.  We ask for a minimum contribution of $65 which is the cost of the flowers.  More than one person can sign up for that special Sunday – it is within the rules to have multiple dedications! Our Memorial Garden Project has been completed. Consider buying a brick to commemorate a loved one in your family or reserve one for yourself.  This is a beautiful meditative spot.  Jana Gill is the contact if you have questions.

There is a need for sleeping bags, windbreaker jackets, and socks for those in need. Jackets need to be clean and light enough to roll up tightly.   Marked containers will be under the tables by the front doors. Thanks from your Outreach Commission. Thanks from those in need.

We are seeking a volunteer to help at the front desk in the parish office on Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon.  Greet those coming to the office, answer phones, and help with general office tasks.  If you are interested, please contact Ray Krise.

Donations for the Food Pantry – The food pantry can use canned meats, tuna, peanut butter, canned fruit or vegetables, and toiletries.  Please place donated items in the basket at the entrance to the church.  Thank you for your generosity towards those in need.
