Please welcome this morning’s guest soloist from the Carmel Bach Festival, soprano Linda Lee Jones. A New Orleans native, Linda is a sought-after vocalist based in New York City, where she sings with the acclaimed Choir of Trinity Church Wall Street and The Western Wind, a six-voice a cappella ensemble — distinctions she shares with David Vanderwal, our tenor soloist two Sundays ago. In addition to working with some of the world’s finest orchestras and conductors as soloist and ensemble member, Linda is a massage therapist, voice teacher, and performing artist who does outreach with young people.

New or Noteworthy This Week

Help feed our community’s hungry by filling one of the red bags located under the table at the back of the church.  Items that are needed most are printed on the bags.  Many thanks from your Outreach Commission who will include your contributions in our daily food bags.  Please return bags to the back of the church.

All Saints Camping Weekend and Annual Church Picnic

Wednesday, July 26th through Sunday, July 30th

Note the extended dates!

A slight change for all of you happy campers!  It has been requested that we extend the dates of the campout, so we have reserved the lower and redwood campsites from Wednesday, July 26 through Sunday July 30 for those who would like more time.  Pull out your tents and camping gear and join parishioners for a fun time at our Big Sur Santa Lucia Campground.  Maybe you don’t camp, but you’d rather just come down for the day, or the evening to sit by the campfire?  Either way, be sure you’re there for Sunday’s annual church picnic.  The Brittons will be grilling the chicken and the rest of us will bring a potluck dish.  Please plan to join in the fun and fellowship.  There will be an outdoor Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. followed by the picnic at noon.

Introduction to Centering Prayer

Would you like to deepen your prayer life?  In this one day retreat we will learn about prayer and contemplation and the method of Centering Prayer, “the prayer of the heart,” a form of Western Meditation which is rooted in Jesus’ teachings and widely used for over 1,500 years – sustaining great spiritual masters like Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and Thomas Merton. This ancient discipline has the power to gradually transform and heal our relationship with the Divine, others and ourselves. It’s even been scientifically proven to reduce our susceptibility to stress.

Come and experience it yourself!  Suggested donation of $25 which includes lunch and snacks.  Teacher & Facilitator:  The Rev. Amber Sturgess

Please contact Mila Murphy with any questions.

Our Memorial Garden Project has been completed. Consider buying a brick to commemorate a loved one in your family or reserve one for yourself.  This is a beautiful meditative spot.  Jana Gill is the contact if you have questions.
