Northern California Fires Relief Donations
Episcopal Relief & Development is working with impacted Episcopal dioceses throughout California as they assess damage and coordinate with local congregations to shelter and feed those affected by the wildfires. The US Disaster Team is in regular communication with the dioceses to organize response efforts.
“The fires are ongoing and assessments are limited due to safety concerns,” said Katie Mears, Director of Episcopal Relief & Development’s US Disaster Program. “We will be working with church partners to reach the most vulnerable in the days ahead.”
Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves has announced that the offering at our 2017 Diocesan Convention in Salinas will be directed to the Diocese of Northern California to support relief work.
Please support Episcopal Relief & Development’s response to these devastating wildfires in California by donating to the US Disaster Fund and pray for all those impacted. Visit www.episcopalrelief.org. Go to the box U.S. Disaster Response.

10th Friends of Epiphany Dinner at All Saints’ by Fr. Jon Perez
November 4th at 6 p.m. Seccombe Hall
Time seems to be slipping past us at a pretty fast rate. It is hard to believe that we are about to celebrate our 10th Friends of Epiphany Dinner at All Saints’. This dinner has its core value around friendship in ministry. Two churches reaching across the Monterey Peninsula to help meet the needs of the hungry, homeless, seniors and youth.
The last few years our theme has been “Fiesta”, bringing in youth from the Salinas Valley in traditional Mexican dance and dress, to share the Hispanic culture at our Friends of Epiphany Dinner. It has been an opportunity for the dance groups to raise money for their dance troops. This year we expand the diversity of Monterey County, with the theme of “Luau”. While we dine on the great food from the Chefs at Roy’s of Pebble Beach, we will be entertained by youth of Monterey County celebrating Asian/Pacific Island dancing.
What an opportunity to celebrate our ministry friendship, food from one of the finest restaurants in Monterey County, supporting youth cultural arts and outreach programs of Epiphany.
Save the date for Saturday November 4th at 6 pm. We are also looking for Silent Auction Items, too. For more information call the church at 831-384-6323
….And still there is more. Epiphany’s Marina Sings Christmas Play will be performing at and including youth from Carmel Youth Center this December. Truly building a new bridge friendship and fellowship between the two communities.

And Don’t Forget
Saturday Eucharist Service Discontinued. The decision to discontinue the weekly Saturday 5:00 PM Eucharist service was presented to the congregation by Rev. Amber and the vestry at the semi-annual meeting on September 3rd. Therefore, from September 17th forward, the only Saturday evening service will be the traditional candlelit Evensong on the first Saturday of every month at 5:00 PM.
Prayer shawls. Hugs for our homebound parishioners: Three of us meet in the church office from one to three on the third Thursday of the month, making “prayer shawls” for members of All Saints’ who land in the hospital, or are confined to their homes for a variety of reasons. The “shawls” can be knitted, crocheted, or quilted; what matters is that these folks know that they are thought of and prayed for. Please consider joining us, even if you can’t come every month. Also, if you are unable to meet at that time, you are welcome to contribute to our supply of afghans, blankets and lap robes. Call Claudia Ward, 373-5069, if you have any questions.
The 2017 Altar Flower Calendar has been posted in the back of the church. Almost all dates in 2017 are now available for you to contribute flowers to honor or memorialize a special event or loved one. We ask for a minimum contribution of $65 which is the cost of the flowers. More than one person can sign up for that special Sunday – it is within the rules to have multiple dedications! Please contact Mila Murphy with any questions.
Our Memorial Garden Project has been completed. Consider buying a brick to commemorate a loved one in your family or reserve one for yourself. This is a beautiful meditative spot. Jana Gill is the contact if you have questions.
Office Front Desk Volunteers. We are currently seeking volunteers to help out at the front desk in the office. Please consider doing this valuable service ministry. Help to welcome those who visit our office and call us on the phone. If interested, please contact Rev. Amber, Candace DiLello, or Ray Krise.
Announcement deadline – To be included in next Sunday’s bulletin, your announcement must be submitted by 11 a.m. on the preceding Wednesday. Most special parish events are included in the announcements for three weeks before they occur. Contact Ray Krise in the office at 831-624-3883.
