Today – An Invitation for Lunch with Saint John’s

Join Saint John’s Sunday fellowship time! Come down to Seccombe Hall for lunch and a good time right after the 10:30 a.m. service today. Saint John’s community is blessed to offer this opportunity to come together as a small sign of gratitude for the support and love that it has been receiving from All Saints’ Church. We will gather in Seccombe Hall and on the patio and the food will be served after prayer for its blessing together.

Congregation Beth Israel presents the 31st Annual Jewish Food Festival

Every summer, a village springs up on the grounds of Congregation Beth Israel in Carmel, conjuring the fictional Anatevka from Fiddler on the Roof. Represented by traditional Jewish costumes and rituals, music and dance, food and drink, the village heartens congregants and our community to celebrate Jewish culture and heritage together.

The 31st Annual Jewish Food Festival is today Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 10:30 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. and admission is free. Convenient free parking is available at Carmel Middle School, with free shuttle bus transportation to and from the festival.

Attendees enjoy live music, folk dancing, craft booths, storytelling, a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony and, of course, our incredible Jewish food; corn beef, pastrami and brisket sandwiches on rye bread, knishes, chicken soup with matzo balls, latkes, New York cheesecake and much more, all in an Eastern European Jewish Village setting.

For more information contact:  Congregation Beth Israel, 5716 Carmel Valley Road, 831-624-2015, www.carmelbeth Israel.org.

And Don’t Forget

Interested in Inter-Faith Conversation, Fun, and Outreach?  Consider Joining JCM United! A new organization on the Monterey Peninsula, called JCM United is bringing together Jews, Christians, and Muslims in order to build bridges of understanding and strengthen our community.  At times we will unite to help the less fortunate around us.  For more information contact Chaplain Holly Hudson-Louis at hhudson-louis@asds.org.

Our Memorial Garden Project has been completed. Consider buying a brick to commemorate a loved one in your family or reserve one for yourself.  This is a beautiful meditative spot.  Jana Gill is the contact if you have questions.

Help feed our community’s hunger by filling one of the red bags located under the table at the back of the church.  Items that are needed most are printed on the bags.  No glass items please.  Many thanks from your Outreach Commission who will include your contributions in our daily food bags.  Please return bags to the back of the church.

Announcement deadline – To be included in next Sunday’s bulletin, your announcement must be submitted by 11 a.m. on the preceding Wednesday.  Most special parish events are included in the announcements for three weeks before they occur.  Contact Ray Krise in the office at 831-624-3883.
