The Rev Amber Sturgess

On 10 Jan 2016, The Reverend Amber Sturgess will be welcomed as our priest-in-charge. Originally from Texas,  Amber received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in French from Texas Tech University in 1984 and 1989, respectively.  She then went on to teach French at the university level for nine years when she decided to change the direction of her life.  Although not actively pursuing ordination, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies, with a concentration in Biblical Studies and Language, from the Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University. Ultimately, deciding to seek ordination, she obtained a certificate in Anglican Studies from Church Divinity School of the Pacific and also obtained a Certificate in Spiritual Direction while in the Berkeley area.

Her parish experience includes acting as an assisting priest at a very diverse parish in Oakland, St. Cuthbert’s, vicar of St. George’s in Antioch and most recently she has been interim rector of St. Stephen’s, San Luis Obispo.

Ray Krise

Ray Krise is pleased to represent All Saints’ and to further our mission and ministries by serving as Administrative Coordinator. He is originally from the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia. He went to receive an A.B. from Middlebury College in Vermont (philosophy and religion), and a M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.  He worked for forty years on the business side of professional sports, holding executive positions with the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Phillies, Oakland Athletics, the Sacramento River Cats, Ticketmaster, and the Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca.  He has also served as ticket manager for the Athletic Department at the University of California, Berkeley.  From a religious family (two ordained ministers among his uncles), he was raised in a church of the American Baptist Convention and was briefly a member of the United Church of Christ and now attends UUCMP.  A huge music fan (eclectic), he enjoys creative writing and is an inveterate reader.

Raul García

Sexton

Raul is charged with the maintenance of all church buildings and gardens.

He came to the United States in 1984 from Churínzio, Michoacan, Mexico, and is married with two children. He has served faithfully as sexton for all Saints’ Church for over 18 years.  A true jack of all trades, he takes loving care of the church and grounds. Raul is known for his cheerful and willing attitude and is also a talented clock repairman.

Maria Medina

Child Care Provider

Maria has been providing childcare assistance for All Saints’ since December 2008. She provides the toddlers and children of All Saints’ with spiritual and developmental enrichment by engaging the children in art activities and imaginative play and sharing Biblical stories that present eternal truths and godly virtues. Maria also serves the parish beyond Sunday morning by offering leadership and activities for the children during special events.

Maria is a graduate of San Jose State University with a bachelors degree in psychology.
