Santa Lucia Campground and Chapel is located approximately twenty-six miles south of Carmel on Highway 1. The entrance to the campground is approximately one-quarter mile south of the River Inn on the west side of the highway. As you exit Highway 1 to enter the camp, you will drive past the Big Sur Health Center and you will see the entrance to the campground.
We are all looking forward to welcoming our campers to another season of rest and relaxation in the beautiful Santa Lucia Chapel and Campground. Now that the Pfeiffer Bridge has reopened there will be much more to discover in Big Sur during your stay. Big Sur has received over ten inches of rain and the river has widened and will provide for fun inner tubing as well as a refreshing sound to enrich your souls.
Santa Lucia Campground
Use of the group campground or group picnic area requires reservations, usually one year in advance. Those planning to use this facility must make a reservation by emailing the Campground’s Camphost and Caretaker at Caretaker@AllSaintsCarmel.org or calling the Camphost at (831) 667-2310.
Rustic Camp Sites
The campground has many suitable campsites for pitching tents, an open fire pit for grilling, a fire ring surrounded by benches, a toilet facility, and a rocky beach along the Big Sur River. RVs and trailers are prohibited. The drinking water is fresh from a well on the property, but there are no showers.
The outdoor chapel at Santa Lucia is used for worship services and other events, including weddings, which require approval from the Senior Warden at All Saints Episcopal Church.
