Bach’s St. John Passion
Join us for J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion, performed by the Central Coast Chamber Choir (C4), the chamber ensemble of I Cantori di Carmel, under the direction of Daniel Henriks.
Soloists include Steven Caldicott Wilson (Evangelist), Morgan Balfour, Gabriela Estephanie Solís, and Matt Peterson, joined by a period-informed ensemble drawn from musicians across the Central Coast.
Presented in an intimate setting, this performance brings the work into close focus, where the story unfolds with directness, clarity, and presence.
Each evening begins with a pre-concert lecture at 6:45 PM by David Gordon, tenor and music historian widely regarded as one of the preeminent Evangelists of his generation. His insight offers a fun and compelling way into the dramatic and historical world of the piece.
Following the performance, audiences are invited to stay for a post-concert reception with the artists and ensemble, an opportunity to connect more directly with the musicians and the work.
